I am Sristy and I believe financial freedom is worth fighting for.
From living in the remotest places of India to building an multi-crore poetry business, I have known nothing to be impossible. But like all journeys, it hasn't been without its fair share of struggles. I have learnt that freedom is never offered to anyone on a silver platter, it is earned with sacrifices and an indomitable spirit.
My true freedom came to me when I was able to support myself financially.
For women, having money in the bank is the single most important thing on the road to freedom.
Not having to depend on anyone for your needs or having to ask permissions to live your life the way you like it is the greatest joy a woman could ask for.
You wanna smash the patriarchy? Stop reading feminist essays and start making some moneyyy!
Milestones
By 20, I had lived in 50 different homes
At 23, I got my big break to work on a Hollywood Production
At 24, I won best cinematography award for my short film 'Circus of Dreams' at LA Women in Film Fest
At 25, I made my first viral videos for Delhi Poetry Slam launching a massive spoken word revolution among the youth
By 26, I had made my first crore rupees
At 27, I launched Wingword Prize that would go on to give 35 Lakh Rupees to emerging poets by 2025
At 29, I had a calling — and decided to leave everything behind and live with the ancient martial tribes of Kodagu.
At 31, I found my way back to Delhi — with a shifted perspective and a mission to set up the Two Roads Studio, a non-profit that aims to make every single woman financially independent.
